MEET DR. KARRAM
Dr. Mickey Karram is an internationally-renowned Urogynecologist, Reconstructive Pelvic Surgeon, and Professor of Urogynecology. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed his fellowship training in Urogynecology at Harbor UCLA School of Medicine, and is past president of the American Urogynecology Society.
Dr. Karram is the Honorary Editor-In-Chief of the International Urogynecology Journal and the consumer publication Female Health Today. He has published more than 200 scientific articles and book chapters, and has co-authored numerous textbooks including, “Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery,” the “Atlas of Pelvic Anatomy and Gynecologic Surgery,” and a series of eight books entitled “Female Pelvic Surgery Video Atlas.”
Dr. Karram has directed numerous post-graduate teaching courses throughout the United States and abroad. He lectures and performs demonstration surgeries throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, South America and Australia. Dr. Karram has been designated by Good Housekeeping magazine as one of the “Best Doctors in America for Women.” He and his wife Mona co-founded the national not-for-profit Foundation for Female Health Awareness, which raises funds to support education and research for women’s health.
Elaine Kopinga has a truly novel approach to care, melding practices that have worked for women for centuries with modern, evidence-based research.
Specializing in urogynecology and prenatal/postpartum care, Elaine has extensive experience working with women in all stages of life. As a nurse practitioner and certified nurse midwife, she has worked in large teaching hospitals and boutique practices, serving both high and low-risk populations. She has performed hundreds of deliveries, giving her a deep understanding of the challenges facing women after childbirth. This drives Elaine’s ongoing focus on combining women’s health with aesthetic medicine. Caring for such a diverse patient population has made Elaine highly attuned to addressing the changing needs of women throughout their lives, particularly with regard to changes in pelvic floor conditions and overall vaginal health.
Underlying Elaine’s diverse skillset is an unbridled passion for connecting with women through listening, teaching, and caring. Elaine believes that true healing begins from the inside out and she is honored to help women of all ages as they navigate their journey toward spiritual and physical wellness.
Elaine, the mother of four-year-old twins and a toddler, always finds extra time in her day to ensure that her patients and their loved ones receive extraordinary care.
